The Scuba Sports Club and Project AWARE Foundation celebrate International Beach Cleanup Day

The Scuba Sports Club will be targeting and removing underwater and shoreline debris at Davenport Park in New Rochelle, located in Weschester County, New York on Sunday September 26 starting at 10:00 AM.

For 35 years, The Scuba Sports Club has targeted and removed underwater and shoreline debris in the Weschester area. This year with two projects to date, one at Orchard Beach and the other at Huckleberry Island the club's next clean up will be at Davenport Park in New Rochelle.
Project AWARE Foundation is an international organization that seeks to promote and coordinate underwater clean up events.
“Project AWARE is pleased to support The Scuba Sports Club. Divers are the guardians of our underwater environments – they often see first hand the effects of marine debris on our delicate ecosystem. This event is the largest single day volunteer event on behalf of our underwater environment. It’s a fantastic example of how people can work together to take action.” said Jenny Miller Garmendia, Director of Project AWARE Foundation.
We welcome participation from the general public you don’t have to be a diver to get involved. Bring your friends and family along and help make clean water a reality.
