Fort Lauderdale – SPLASH! A photo exhibit depicting the artistry, athleticism and unique

SPLASH will present nearly 200 of the best photographs from the sports of swimming, diving,
water polo, synchronized swimming and open water swimming as snapped by some of the
world’s best sports photographers, including Heinz Kluetmeier, Donald Miralle, Al Bello, Tim
Morse and Dr. Peter Bick. Their images have graced the pages of Sports Illustrated, ESPN
Magazine, Time Magazine, Swimming World Magazine and many, many others.
About the Photographers
Heinz Kluetmeier is a legendary photographer whose photographs have appeared on over 100
covers of Sports Illustrated. His images have virtually defined what great sports photography is
all about. In a world where television and magazines have saturated our imaginations to
numbness with an endless stream of great sports images, Kluetmeier's photographs manage to
perform the unthinkable: they cause us to pause, to examine - and, most importantly, to feel.
Indeed, if there is one defining characteristic of Kluetmeier's images, it is their ability to draw us
into the passion of the moment, to make us experience the emotions of that moment - whether it's
an instant of victory or defeat, of joy or sadness. In Beijing, it was Heinz who landed the
signature sequence of the Olympics: the underwater shot of Michael Phelps beating Serbia's
Milorad Cavic to the touchpad in the 100 m butterfly. For more about Heinz:

Bruce Weber is the best-known exponent of a style of male glamour which was highly influential in the fashion world during the 1980's. Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld and Ralph Lauren have all employed his talents to define their brand image. Weber’s chiseled models are sexy yet innocent, sculptural but relaxed, and create an image of clean-cut, all-American athleticism. It is the human factor in Weber’s fashion images which is dominant, rather than the clothing; and his choice of models defines his style as much as his carefully controlled lighting. Dorina Andrei and George Shelley are the husband and wife team behind Dorgie Productions and the innovative use of models underwater in lifestyle situations for commercial advertising. Shot in their unique underwater studio, their exceptional underwater images of infants and children underwater show the joy and wonder of the swimming experience that will leave you wondering why everyone doesn't swim.
