HP Halo & Tandberg TelepresenceA Revolution in Interoperability

The HP-TANDBERG alliance which began early in 2007 has indeed marked a revolution in enabling interoperability between video conferencing and telepresence products. HP and TANDBERG concurred on following a development plan that would enable TANDBERG's standards-based video conferencing systems to work on the HP Halo Video Exchange Network (HVEN). The inherent interoperability would allow customers to get the advantages of video on a brand new level even as they maximized their current investments. Advantageous Developments in the HP-TANDBERG Alliance In June 2008, the two companies announced their intention to widen interoperability between standards-based video conference technologies and telepresence. The focus was on developing a new set of solutions that would provide HD (high-definition) video conferencing and unmatched managed telepresence. In October of the same year, the two announced an international managed service solution to offer more reliability, quality and efficiency as compared to conventional video conferencing, while bringing down travel costs. The HP Halo Video Collaboration Service has features which have been created and developed as part of the HP-TANDBERG alliance to satisfy the requirements of an environment for integrated video collaboration. Through this service, HP supports Microsoft's Office Communications Server integration for TANDBERG endpoints. HP and TANDBERG have also extended their reseller agreement, which would give a greater number of customers further selection and flexibility in buying collaboration solutions. It is also the only telepresence product to work on a private network that is tailored particularly for video collaboration.
