The Guild’s website has been re-launched with a fresh vibrant new look and lots of new content to feature an events calendar and regularly updated news submitted by the membership.
Ralph Jandrell, recently elected chairman of the Shropshire Guild appointed Much Wenlock based company, Lilac Sky to project manage all the marketing and pr for the Guild for this year.
Ralph said “a few members of the Guild had worked with Lilac Sky on various projects so it seemed right to use a local company who had experience of working with designer-makers. Sophie from Lilac Sky is also very keen to promote small businesses, especially those involved in crafts.”
Sophie from Lilac Sky said “the site had to incorporate many essential factors, the main one being the reflection of the quality and professionalism of the membership. Other elements that had to be factored into the design included simple, creatively designed pages, a strong contemporary design and colour schemes, and of course a site that is easy to navigate, constantly informative and interesting.”
Sophie continued “the next phase of the project was to fit the design idea to a designer, and knowing local company Bluish had a keen interest in craft based designer makers seemed the natural choice”.
Founded in 1996, award winning Shropshire based Bluish has worked with clients including Pink Floyd and Robbie Williams.
Dulcie Fulton, from Bluish told us “"I am very much enjoying working with the Guild and Lilac Sky. The new site provides the Guild with an effective and contemporary online presence which can be maintained and updated by the membership via an easy to use open-source content management system. The Shropshire Guild has a wealth of creative talent, and it has been immensely rewarding to create a site worthy of the work on display and get to know all the designers in the process."
Ralph Jandrell said “it has been a great experience working with both companies, and Guild members are really pleased with the new website. I’d also really like to encourage people to have a look at the new site at www.shropshireguild.co.uk – we have a lot of really creative and imaginative designer makers in Shropshire of the highest calibre.”
The Shropshire Guild of Contemporary Craft’s annual flagship exhibition, ‘Gorgeous’ is the next big event for the Guild. To be held at Enginuity, Ironbridge on November 29th and 30th.
Lilac Sky and Bluish are both members of Creative Shropshire – a networking group promoting Shropshire’s Commercial Creative talents.
