Have you ever wanted to code less and get more work done? Wouldn't it be cool if the tools you used just understood what you wanted to do and then adapted to the runtime environment to get the work done as efficiently as possible? Mike Wood, Microsoft Practice Director for Strategic Data Systems, will share how you can get more work done with less code in a series of PLINQ talks being held throughout Michigan, May 12-14.
With the increase in the number of cores on a processor it is becoming more important to take advantage of the available resources; however, coding for the various runtime scenarios can be quite painful. Tools like Parallel LINQ (PLINQ) can let developers provide the declarative instructions for an operation and the tool can determine how best to use the available processor cores.
