Houston Public Relations Firm Owner Named 2009 Texas Blazing Star

Crystal Brown-Tatum, CEO of Crystal Clear Communications, has been named a 2009 Blazing Star Award winner from The Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Texas. The Blazing Star Awards honors women in Texas on the success fast track; blazing their own unique paths to professional achievement. Brown-Tatum is the only Houstonian and African-American woman amongst this year’s winners. “I am extremely honored to have been recognized by fellow female peers for my hard work and perseverance,” says Brown-Tatum. “This distinction nicely caps out my personal battle with breast cancer over the past two years and serves as a reminder that despite the numerous obstacles one may face, with determination and focus, your dreams can become reality.” Founded in the late 1980s, the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Texas is a statewide, nonprofit, nonpartisan business organization engaged in economic development for women with strategic focus in three areas: Business and leadership education, executive networking and advocacy on women’s business issues.
